THE HARRIS & HOWL SECOND CHANCES INITIATIVE
Founding Partner: Detroit Dog Rescue
Every dog deserves a second chance.
Harris & Howl was built around that belief. It started with a dog named Dexter, whose health changed the way we thought about food, care, and what it really means to love an animal. That experience taught us that what we feed our dogs matters. And it reminded us that not every dog has someone in their corner yet.
That is why giving back is not something we added to our business. It is something we built into it from the very beginning.
Introducing the Second Chances Initiative
The Second Chances Initiative is our permanent commitment to dogs who are still waiting for their family. Through our founding partnership with Detroit Dog Rescue, every purchase made through Harris & Howl helps feed a dog in need.
Detroit Dog Rescue has been fighting for Detroit’s dogs for years. They pull dogs from dangerous situations, give them safety, and find them homes. We are proud to stand behind that work in a way that is real and ongoing.
How It Works
Every two purchases made through any Harris & Howl channel triggers a product donation to Detroit Dog Rescue. It does not matter whether you shop online, find us at the farmers market, or catch us at a pop-up event. Every purchase counts.
The program covers every product we make, today and in the future. Same product purchases donate that product. Mixed purchases allow Harris & Howl to select the donated item based on shelter need.
This is not a limited campaign. It does not end. It grows with us.
Detroit Dog Rescue — Our Founding Giving Partner
DDR was the first organization we called because their mission and ours speak the same language. Healthier dogs. Better lives. A city that takes care of its own.
As Harris & Howl grows, the Second Chances Initiative grows with it. Detroit Dog Rescue will always hold the founding partner designation — the organization that helped us define what giving back looks like for this company.
When you choose Harris & Howl, you are feeding your dog and helping another dog find their way home.
